About Us
At Unikorns we focus on creating designs that combine creativity with technology to help brands stand out. We work with startups taking their first steps and with growing businesses ready to scale up. Our philosophy is simple: design is not just about making things look good, it is about solving problems and moving our clients’ goals forward.
Role Overview
We're seeking a Digital Designer with a strong foundation in visual design and experience across web, mobile, and graphic design. As part of our team, you'll work closely with project managers, developers, and other designers, contributing original ideas and ensuring high-quality deliverables aligned with our creative standards.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate and Create: Work with designers, developers, and project leads to turn business needs into well-thought-out designs that hit the mark.
- Design and Execute: Build interfaces, from websites to mobile apps, and create visual assets for both clients and Unikorns projects. Apply layouts, hierarchies, and brand guidelines, always keeping an eye on details.
- Enhance User Experience: Propose adjustments to improve user experience and ensure designs are not just visually appealing but also functional and accessible.
- Maintain Brand Consistency: Create layouts that fit with each brand’s unique look and maintain consistency across all elements, following established frameworks.
- Work Within Design Systems: Support our design systems by adding or refining components as needed, with guidance from senior designers to ensure brand alignment and technical feasibility.
Requirements
- Experience: At least 1 year in a design role within an agency or similar setting, focused on digital and graphic design. Note that we don’t count freelance work unless you provide a detailed project description, your role, and work samples, along with a contact who can confirm your contributions.
- Languages: Professional in both English and Polish for clear client and team communication.
- Core Design Skills:
- Composition & Grids: Solid understanding of basic layout principles, with the ability to add original touches while following project guidelines.
- Typography: Able to create clear typographic hierarchies with strong rhythm and contrast, ensuring readability and meeting accessibility standards.
- Color: Skilled in using color to set the tone and maintain visual balance, able to adapt colors within brand frameworks.
- Tools: Confident in using Figma and Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator – mandatory, After Effects – a big plus), with a knack for picking up new tools and adapting to client-specific software.
- UI Skills: You know how to design clean page structures and logical flows that align with project needs, always considering the user experience.
- Soft Skills:
- Communication: Proactive in providing updates and asking questions when needed, keeping the team in the loop.
- Critical Thinking: Engages with feedback thoughtfully, asking smart questions to clarify project goals and anticipate issues.
- Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail in all aspects of design, ensuring everything is accurate and on point.
